Toms River ROSI Amendment Application Block 668, Lot 9 - Public Hearing Notice

TAKE NOTICE that the Township of Toms River, in the County of Ocean, New Jersey has filed a request with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Green Acres Program (DEP), proposing an amendment to its Recreation Open Space Inventory (ROSI) by removing property located in the Township of Toms River and identified as Block 668, Lot 9 on the tax map of the Township (Property) and correcting the acreage listed on the ROSI in connection with Block 668. The Property is a 0.779 acre parcel located on East Water Street. The Property is a parking lot which was erroneously listed on the ROSI. The Property was not acquired for, nor used for, recreation or conservation purposes. 

Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 7-36-25.3, a hearing to obtain public comment on this request will be held in the Lomell Room on the main level of Town Hall,   33 Washington Street, Toms River, New Jersey on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 5:00 pm. Any member of the public may have the opportunity to be heard at the public hearing subject to any applicable Township ordinances.  Written comments on the amendment request may be submitted to Dave Roberts, Township Planner at droberts@tomsrivertownship.com during the public comment period following the public hearing which shall end on June 9, 2022. Please send a copy of any comments submitted on this request to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Office of Transactions and Public Land Administration, Public Land Compliance, Mail Code 401-07, P.O. Box 402, Trenton, NJ 08625-0402. Public comment on this ROSI amendment will be accepted during the public hearing on May 26, 2022 or until June 9, 2022. All information submitted by the Township to the DEP in support of the ROSI amendment request is available to the public for inspection at the office of the Division of Planning and Zoning on the second floor of Town Hall and the Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library.
