Registrar of Vital Statistics
Applications for Marriages/Re-Marriages are done Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. No appointment is necessary. Applicants must show valid photo identification (driver's license or passport) and proof of Toms River Township residence (if it is not on the driver's license). One witness must be present with the couple. The witness must be over the age of 18 and have valid photo identification with a current address. The witness cannot also be the officiant.
Please be advised, there is a 72 hour waiting period from the time the application is submitted and the time the license can be issued.
The Toms River Township Office of Vital Statistics maintains vital records for events that occurred in Toms River Township only.

Confidentiality
These vital records are confidential and not accessible to the public. As per State Law, the Registrar can issue a vital record only to certain individuals and they must establish their right to the record. Certified copies of these may be obtained in person during regular business hours (no appointment necessary) or by mail.
